Personal Information

Personality:
True to her name, Genki is very upbeat and energetic. It comes in handy with selling supplies for festivals. She has always been that way since she gained consciousness. She is almost always seen smiling. She's the helpful type as well. If she can lend someone a hand, she'll do her best to. Though sometimes she ends up being more of a hindrance, it's the thought that counts.
She loves her job and thinks of it as a way to bring joy to others. It's not uncommon to hear her singing to herself as she works around her shop stall. Sometimes when she sees others who seem sad or upset, she offers them a free sparkler, as a way to try and cheer them up.
It's not that she doesn't sometimes get upset though. She usually just doesn't show it. Genki will try and hide away when she's not feeling herself. She rather not bring others down and for that reason tends to bottle up her feelings until she can let them out in private.
Overall she is a happy go lucky gal.

Likes: Festivals, Sweet foods, Playing pranks, Exciting night life, Singing

Dislikes: Starless nights, Things being wasted, Being alone, Spicy food, Being sneaked up on

History:
Like all Chochinobake, a type of Tsukumogami, Genki gained a conscious state when she reached 100 years of age. Up until that point she was a lantern, a special festival lantern that her family cherished. She was passed down and used during every Obon. However that 100th year, she had become a bit worn and her use was pretty much up. Her family used her for one last Obon celebration and on the final night of the festival she was thrown out.
It was strange. She suddenly found herself outside, in the dark, and which a human like body. Her first form being that of a child, around the age of 10 or so. She felt empty and alone but she didn't harbor any ill will towards her family. It was time she moved on and took this new life and used it for something. Though she wasn't sure what.
Genki became a wandering spirit. Hiding during the day in the form of a lantern, and at night roaming towns for things she could eat and places she could take shelter. It was a hard life, however she didn't seem to ever be disheartened. Perhaps it was her nature, having been a festival lantern, that she found happiness in everything she did.
That was how she gained her name. In her travels she had met a Tengu who was resting on a mountain trail. He commented that she seemed to have boundless energy and was very cheerful. When he asked her what she was called she shrugged and thus he just started referring to her as “genki”.
She actually kept him company for awhile, following him around and trying to be a helper. That's how she learned to sell. He was a merchant and took on a human form to go into towns to sell his wares. She really liked helping with that. And her energy was great for it! She was good at drawing the attention of customers and her perkiness usually won over even difficult buyers.
It was a nice life, but it didn't last. One night as they were in town to sell, her Tengu friend was found out. And the humans panicked, and attacked. They tried to flee, and he took to protecting her, ending up taking a fatal strike from a sword. They managed to make it back out into the woods, but he didn't last long after that. She remembered looking up to the sky and seeing nothing, no stars. And that image stated with her. The lost of her only friend, on a haunting night with no stars.
She wanted to keep up his business though, to honor him. So she decided to keep traveling and selling. Though he had mainly sold random items and trinkets, curiosities that humans found mysterious; she decided to put her festival nature to use, and sell festival supplies. Sparklers and masks made up the main selection of her wares, but she also managed to sell some decorations and other celebratory items.
Her travels one day led her to the bathhouse. She was taken back by the place, and really excited to see so many other Yokai and creatures. It made her feel safe; as she was still worried about being found out, just like what had happened before. With the variety of guests and those that lived in the area she wondered if she could possibility set up shop and stay put. And that's just what she ended up doing.
She spends everyday trying to bring some festive cheer to those who stop by her shop. She believes any day can be a festival, and sells just the things to help make each day exciting.

Additional Info:
- She can transform between her humanoid and lantern forms. But she if she's startled, it's not uncommon for her to transform into her lantern form out of reflex.

- She can make her hair flare up into wisps of spirit fire. Usually a sign she's angry.
     - There is one mask in her shop that isn't for sale. She says it was a gift. But really it was the mask belonging to the Tengu man she traveled with.
RP Style: Skype, notes, chat... style wise, both para and script.
